NBA 2K15, My First MoCap!

October 7, 2014, in Television,
Tom Christensen and Sheldon Bailey in NBA 2K15 Career Mode

MoCapped!

The next installment of 2K’s NBA series has arrived, NBA 2K15!  I played the agent in the game’s Career Mode, and you get to see me throughout Your career.

I had a ton of fun working with the 2K team on this project, especially the talented Sheldon Bailey, who plays the character you control, and director Chris Papierniak.

It was so fun doing motion capture – wearing the suit, getting chased around the warehouse…can’t wait to do it again!

This is a wheelhouse, I think. We don't have a graphic yet. Apologies.

This is a wheelhouse.
We don’t have a graphic.
Apologies.

The iO West theater in Hollywood has completely overhauled its improv programming.  Beginning January 8th, three premier teams will perform the theater’s flagship form, The Harold: King Ten, Heyday, and the team I am privileged to play on, Wheelhouse.

The players are Tommy BechtoldFrank Caeti, Tom Christensen, Chris GorbosKyle MoreJustin Michael TerryLynn TrickeyErik Voss & Danielle Weeks.  Coached by Dave Hill

This is a major change for the theater, which for years had 9 house teams, give or take.  Following the dissolution of all but one (King Ten), Artistic Director James Grace designed the smaller, sleeker Wednesday night lineup.

Tuesday nights have been reprogrammed as well.  14 teams will alternate weekly on the main stage, leaving the Del Close Theater for good.  New classes and independent shows will fill the space, presumably.

I’m a banana.

June 5, 2013, in Film,

No, that’s not a tip of my hat to Don Hertzfelt’s Rejected.  I had the pleasure of playing Mr. Banana for Skye Von, writer and director of the Jamba Juice short, “Juicy Affairs!”

The costumes were really amazing, all constructed by Ambre Wrigley of Wrigley Costume Design. See for yourself:

We screened the completed project on Monday, and it turned out really well.  Keep an eye out for “Juicy Affairs” online!

If you are a fan on Facebook, you may have seen an early draft of this postcard. I’m using it to promote my upcoming appearances on both “2 Broke Girls” in October(?) and “Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23” later this year!

It was very gracious of Kat, Beth, Dreama, and Krysten to put aside their differences for a day and pose with me for this photo.

Now, if they could just write another 1/2 hour network comedy featuring two twenty-something girls (one blonde, the other brunette) sassily making their way through New York City…

gristle-improv-poster Ladies and Your Gentlemen!  After an extended sabbatical hunting large game across the Dark Continent, the brave men of Gristle have returned.  They will perform a show that will dazzle the senses, tomorrow night!

  • Watch Col. Clayton Froning reenact his bare-chested wrestling of a she-lion!
  • Witness Adm. Thomas M. Christensen perform a most lewd native dance!
  • And, for the first time, Gristle welcomes Lady Eden Malyn to serenade you to the BRINK OF TEARS – but no further.

I had the opportunity a few weeks ago to work with Jack Black and Kyle Gass on the promo video for Tenacious D’s upcoming album, “Rize of the Fenix.

The sketch was written by Bob Odenkirk (Mr. Show) who also plays the doctor in the video.  Katy Foley and I are visible as a couple of researchers, experimenting on fellow iO West improvisers Mort Burke and Amy Phillips.

It was a pleasure to meet and chat up the kind soul that is John Ennis (Mr. Show), and walking legend Rudy Sarzo (Quiet Riot, Whitesnake, and Ozzy Osbourne’s band).

Folks, we had so much fun last week at The Gardenia, we decided to do it one more time.

Call (323) 467-7444 to make your reservation!

That would be a root beer in my hand. I am a professional.
